Calculating the water volume

Before you buy a submersible pump for your pond, for a foumtain, waterfall, filter or a combination of any of these, you must know the volume of your pond.

CALCULATING POND WATER VOLUME:

Work out your pond volume by following this simple formula:

LITRES : Average Length (metres) x Average width (metres) x Average Depth (metres) x 1000 = volume in Litres

GALLONS: Average Length (feet) x Average width (feet) x Average Depth (feet) x 6.25 = volume in Gallons

If you have adjoining ponds repeat formula and add together for total volume

Circular Pond Volume
Radius (m) x Radius (m) x 3.14 = Surface Area in m
Suface Area in m x Depth (m) = Volume in m³
Volume m³ x 1000 = Litres Capacity
